On Sunday, August 24 at 10PM, UAW Local 2300 called a strike, just a few hours before Cornell’s student move-in day.

The founder and editor of Striking Distance, Aaron Fernando, wrote a piece in The Nation on the beginning of the strike, including some context around the local labor movements in Ithaca that preceded this strike.
